Demo to final walkthrough: how a full kitchen remodel actually sequences, where delays come from, and how to keep your project moving.
Most kitchen delays are not caused by the build — they are caused by decisions and lead times. Cabinets, appliances, windows and stone slabs are all ordered items, and a single late selection can stall an otherwise clean schedule.
Before demo: selections and ordering
Layout is locked, cabinetry is ordered, appliances are confirmed with real specs, and plumbing and lighting are chosen. We do not start demolition until long-lead items have shipping dates.
Weeks 1-2: demo and rough-in
Cabinets and flooring come out, walls open where needed, and electrical, plumbing and any structural work goes in. Inspections happen at the end of rough-in.
Weeks 3-4: close-up and cabinets
Insulation, drywall, paint prep, flooring, then cabinet installation. Once boxes are set and leveled, the countertop template can be made — stone fabrication typically follows about a week later.
Weeks 5-6: finishes and punch list
- Counters, backsplash tile and sink
- Appliance installation and hookups
- Trim, hardware, paint touch-up and lighting
- Final inspection and a written punch list
